My only regret is that I couldn't find a small replica to buy as a souvenir. Weather permitting, large fires are lit in tubs in front of the brave chief between 9 and 9:15 p.m. It is a retreat for the weary, a playground for the young, a canvas for the artist, and a place to ground one's spirit. The Native American stoically stands at the watch while soft, soothing recorder music plays. There's a small rapid of water where wild ducks and geese congregate. The large protector keeps watch over scenic views of the place where the river divides into 2 rivers. Depictions and descriptions decorate the walls at the beginning of the boulder mound with interesting information about the people who once populated this area. It is a quiet area between 2 pedestrian bridges among some boulders that are yet wheelchair accessible. I happened to see it as an after-ad for someplace else.
I almost missed knowing about this place.
